About
Us
Ashley Harris the owner and trainer began her show career in 1987
at show age of two. She took the show ring by storm winning youth
showmanship 12 & under, several times, in large classes. She always
trained her own horses and earned her first National top ten at age
five when she went to her first National show. Over the years she
has competed in every class offered, except for multiple hitch classes.
She spent many years showing as a youth and then moved on to amateur
and AOTE classes.
Throughout
school Ashley was involved in 4-H. For a 4-H project she broke a
mare to drive and jump who later went on to become a World Reserve
Champion driving horse. She was also the youth president of the
Mid-America Miniature Horse Club for five years. She is still very
actively involved in the club, participating on several committees.
Ashley was also an AMHA and MAMHC scholarship winner.
She
accumulated 2 World Championships, six World Reserve Championships,
and numerous Top Ten placings, honor roll placings and MAMHC highpoint
awards before starting her professional career. In her first year
training with just six horses, she won three AMHA World Championships
and eleven top tens along with one AMHR Reserve National Championship
and 10 National Top Tens.
Ashley
attended The Ohio State University where she received an Associates
Degree in Horse Science and Bachelors Degree in Animal Science.
She took classes in nutrition, genetics, anatomy, reproduction,
farriering, equine health, equine judging, and several practicums
where she got hands on experience with what she was learning.
All
of her experience and education makes Ashley Harris and Versatility
Farm and Training Center an excellent choice for all you horse needs.
She has shown as a youth and amateur and knows what it is like to
be a “little guy.” Ashley not only wants to work “for
you” as the owner, but also to work “with you,”
and your horse!!!
